Date Night

So, Melody and I got to enjoy a night out last night without our little princess. She stayed with her grandmother, and we decided to make the best of it. We started off with dinner at Bella Luna on Eastern Ave. (Highly recommend it if you've never been) We had a flight of Italian white wines (as shown) and started off with asparagus wrapped in prosciuto. Then we moved on to baked Ziti al Forno and Shrimp Scampi, with coffee and bread pudding for dessert. One of the best Italian meals we have shared yet.

Then we headed to the Aranoff to see Grease. Melody went to High School with one of the cast members. Bridie Carroll played the part of Jan and had a couple of solo songs. She did an excellent job as did the rest of the cast (even Taylor Hicks who played the Teen Angel). We got to meet her at the end of the show.

Later, we decided to head over to Bootsy's (a new club and restaurant by Bootsy Collins and Jeff Ruby's). After hearing of my best friend getting denied access to the club because of his attire (mind you, he is from the land of such clubs, LA) we decided to give it a try. After waiting for 10 minutes we got in. In the morning, we had doughnuts and then went to pick up the little Cate monster, who had had a great time at her grandma's house. It was a gret night out. Here's to the married life. :)

Don't you just love those nights! Of course we all miss our little peanuts, but I would have to say nights like that only make for even better mama's and dada's! Glad you guys had such a fun night! Matt loves Bootsy's. I have never been, but perhaps we'll copy your evening one night and go! :)

Papa E, What a perfect date night for you and Mommy Mel. A bit of wisdom that holds true even after my nearly quarter century of marriage: THE BEST THING A DAD CAN DO FOR HIS CHILDREN, IS TO LOVE THEIR MOM. As a particular insurance company says....Your in Good Hands...and so are the Riggs ladies to be sure. See you all at the the big # One. Love Aunt B

Having also graduated from HS with Melody and Bridie, I am so jealous you guys got to see her in Grease! I'm sure she did a fantastic job.
